Monsoon Havoc

As we have just in verge of getting Monsoon rain we could able to see lot of Urban problems in terms of death’s and floods in Bangalore and other parts of the METRO cities across the country. Even one or two hour rains will create havoc in METRO cities. We can see lot of traffic jams and very slow moving traffic etc.
If we use our common sense and just give a thought why it is happening? Even before also it use to rain in fact it use to rain for more number of hours and volume was also more than what we get rains now a days. But still our cities get flooded why?
Who is responsible for this? Or Planners of the cities or the Urban Local Bodies (ULB’s) or Municipalities or Urban local Govt. or Pvt. Builders and developers or politicians or people of the cities who is responsible?
In one or the other way, directly or indirectly every one of the above is responsible. If you are asking how it is as simple as the no one performing their duties promptly as well as there is no quality of work.
Planners and developers have close down all the lakes which were in the low lying area. There were about more than 200 lakes in Bangalore and surrounding areas. I.e. I am taking only the Bangalore Urban district into consideration. But what do the figures show now less than 10 to 12 lakes are there in the city. We can just count in our fingers. This is causing such a severe problems and is going to create lot more problems which Govt and the governing bodies of the city are not considering. The whole of Bangalore is sitting on a stagnant derange water. If it rain there no place left free which can absorb the rain water, whenever it rains more than 40 percent of water should get soaked just before it reaching lakes. So that it improves the ground water. And lakes will do the work of reaching pit which recharges and improves the ground water. But now we have a look at Bangalore where the whole of the city is cover with road and concrete. No water will get soaked or absorbed. And most of the lakes have been closed, and the multi storey building like apartments, office blocks, or big townships have come up. And our Cities Urban local Government sanctions all the plans who give the money to the Engineers to get the plans sanctioned. No one is worried about the consequences, If you have noticed just look at the Mumbai’s 2005 what was happened. Same thing are going to repeat to Bangalore and even worse than that.
Now the whole Bangalore city is experiencing the 4 type of fevers. One is Dengu, second is H1N1, third is Chicken Guniya, fourth is Flue etc . In the above 3 are very common among the bangalorians all the hospitals and clinics have been daily flooded with people of same problems. At one side Doctors and hospitals are getting very good business but people are suffering. And the above three fevers are coming in those areas where the solid waste not cleared and managed properly and also where the Big Drains and open Nala’s are flowing , and also where ever these nala’s are open up constructions are going on from past 2 to 3 year’s. This is relay a very horrifying picture our CM and the elected members of vidhan souda and Concellors all are enjoying the holiday’s in foreign countries or else nicely spending their time in their form houses.
I will uploaded some of the picture just have a look.
